With the recent completion of the $10M Harvey Milk Terminal 1 project at SFO, Priority Architectural Graphics continues a three decades long track record successfully delivering signage projects for the aviation sector. From renumbering SFO gates overnight, to launching the Edwin Lee Departures Hall in SFO’s International Terminal and partnering with Turner Construction for the British Airways SFO Lounge, Priority Architectural Graphics has been a steady partner for over two decades. Priority has also performed work for Oakland International Airport, San Jose Mineta Airport as well as numerous other transportation networks from BART  to Bay Area Ferry and Cruise Ship Terminals including those in Vallejo and San Francisco.

Aviation industry signage implementations are among the most complex when it comes to sign installation both operationally and logistically. Many of these projects span multi-year timeframes which involve shifting timelines. And aviation projects also require intricate coordination with unions which have stringent requirements for sterile areas, operations management, and security issues at terminal entry points.

Aviation projects are a growth opportunity for Priority Architectural Graphics. Many airport facilities built in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s are “end of life” requiring replacement or refurbishing with airport commissions looking at cutting edge solutions to replace these. Federal infrastructure dollars from the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure deal are also fueling recent and upcoming investment in new facilities. The refurbishing of Terminal 3 at SFO is being spearheaded by Turner Construction and Gensler and many airport projects related to the post Covid surge in travel are planned at both San Diego and Los Angeles airports as well as at other smaller regional transportation hubs (Burbank Airport, Palm Springs Airport). Additional transportation sector work is also anticipated as California hosts several FIFA games in 2026 and Los Angeles hosts the Superbowl in 2027 followed by the Olympics in 2028.

“Priority Architectural Graphics is proud to have been a leader fabricating and installing commercial signage in the transportation sector and the aviation industry has been a key driver of that success. From high-impact digital displays to engaging large-format graphics and wayfinding signage, we are proud to have partnered with top-tier general contractors and designers to deliver aviation projects on time and on budget,” notes company CEO Juliana Choy Sommer. “We look forward to working closely with Turner Construction, Hensel Phelps Construction, Gensler, Webcor and others who have also prioritized aviation as a growth opportunity within the transportation industry.”
