The Contra Costa County Public Safety Building and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is a state-of-the-art, two-story facility designed to centralize key Sheriff’s Office functions, including Administration, Field Operations, Communications, Coroner, and Emergency Services. Located at 1850 Muir Road in Martinez, California, the 40,111-square-foot building is engineered to operate independently for over a week during emergencies, featuring ballistic-resistant structures and advanced technology to ensure resilience and continuity of operations.
Priority Architectural Graphics played a pivotal role in this project by delivering comprehensive signage solutions that enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Their scope encompassed interior and exterior code signage, wayfinding systems, and prominent exterior building identification. A standout contribution is the development and installation of an 18-foot diameter, multi-piece carved-glass centerpiece in the stairwell, weighing approximately 218 pounds, which serves as a focal point within the facility. Priority’s meticulous planning, coordination with Hensel Phelps, and strong attention to detail ensured the seamless integration of these elements, significantly contributing to the project’s success and the building’s operational efficiency.
