David & Lucile Packard Foundation

VKK Signmakers (now ​Priority Architectural Graphics) played a pivotal role in the development of The David and Lucile Packard Foundation’s headquarters at 343 Second Street in Los Altos, California. This 49,000-square-foot, two-story building was designed to achieve net-zero energy consumption and LEED® Platinum certification, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to environmental sustainability. Collaborating with design firm Propp & Guerin and contractor DPR Construction, VKK was entrusted with crafting distinctive inlaid and interlocking copper lettering for the building’s signage. Our expertise ensured that the signage not only complemented the building’s architectural aesthetics but also aligned with its sustainable design principles.

Leveraging very specific fabrication techniques and meticulous attention to detail, VKK first produced a prototype that met the project’s exacting standards. This successful demonstration led to the selection for the final implementation. The signage was completed on time and within budget, seamlessly integrating with the building’s use of natural materials like cedar and glass. VKK’s contribution enhanced the visual identity of the headquarters, underscoring our reputation as a trusted partner capable of delivering high-quality, customized signage solutions that resonate with a project’s environmental and design objectives.
