San Francisco State University (SFSU) faced a major challenge in helping students, faculty, and visitors navigate its complex and decentralized campus. With multiple buildings and open spaces, first-time visitors often found it difficult to orient themselves. The existing signage lacked consistency in design, making it hard for students to recognize and follow directional cues. Additionally, high-traffic areas required clear, durable signage that could withstand frequent use and environmental exposure.
To address this issue, Priority Graphics collaborated with ARUP and JUV Construction to design and implement a comprehensive wayfinding solution that would make campus navigation intuitive and seamless. The project aimed to create a visually cohesive system that aligned with SFSU’s branding while improving the overall campus experience.
The new wayfinding system was strategically planned and installed at key decision points, including key entrance points, main decision points, and pedestrian pathways. By incorporating high-quality, weather-resistant materials, the signage was designed for durability and minimal maintenance.
Completed in the fall of 2024, the wayfinding project has transformed the SFSU campus, providing clear direction, reducing confusion, and enhancing accessibility. Students, faculty, and visitors can now navigate the university with more ease, creating a more welcoming and efficient environment.
With extensive experience in educational wayfinding solutions, Priority Graphics understands the unique challenges that come with large, multi-building campuses. Our team works closely with clients to bring innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing signage systems to life.
